The Surfing Association of the State of Oaxaca (ASEO) announced the dates for the Zicatela Surf Pro 2009 tournament, which takes place within the opening weekend of the festivities of November in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.

It is expected that 100 surfers from across the country and around the world will compete on the Oaxacan coast for the first time in half marathon on stand-up paddles boards during the November Zicatela Pro 2009 contest.

Humberto Olivera Lopez, president of the ASEO, said in a statement that a significant amount of cash for the awards and the street fair will be alternated with skills in activities such as skateboarding, music concerts and video screenings of surfing and other outdoor recreational activities, not to mention the beauty contest of Miss Bikini at the end of the tournament.

Accessing Money

While you're in Puerto Escondido you can easily access your funds. There are quite a few bank ATM's throughout the town and in the tourist areas. The major super market Super Che also has ATM's located near the checkouts in the corridor to the bathrooms. The banks have 24 hour ATM's and limit the withdrawals to $5000MXN per day per account.
