Coming to Puerto Escondido can be achieved many ways. Some fly into the local airport (PXM) while others fly to Huatulco airport (HUX) then catch an airport shuttle directly to their accommodation in Puerto Escondido. The both the Huatulco and Puerto Escondido airports have official taxi services which can be arranged upon your arrival inside the airport complex.

There are two bus terminals in the town center. One is privately owned by ADO bus terminal and it is where the SUR buses and ADO coaches operate out of. All the other coaches use the public bus terminal located near the market. Buses operate frequently and tickets can normally be purchased the day of departure (except at Christmas and Easter when the demand for seats is extreme).

The rest of the visitors to Puerto Escondido arrive by car. Many accommodation places have off street secure parking for guests. Their are car rentals available from the major companies as well as a few local businesses who offer better rates.

Very visitors arrive via boat. Puerto Escondido does have a small harbour where smaller cruisers and small yachts can be moored for a length of time. The captain of the port will need to be contacted before arrival by boat. The bay is not big enough for cruise liners to berth.
