The month of February is certainly a great time to visit Puerto Escondido. There are plenty of smaller fiestas and cultural events in and around Puerto Escondido. One of the bigger happenings each year is the Chila festival (7 minutes drive from the airport) that happens each February.

Weather is nice in Puerto Escondido in February. The days are still cloudless and the vegetation is getting quite dry from the lack of rain. It probably won't rain in February and if it does it would only be for a few minutes all month.

There is just a normal amount of people in Puerto Escondido in February so it is a good time to learn to surf and the waves are small enough to learn on -- although some days might see some good swells for the more experienced surfers.

The water temperature is warm in February for snorkelling and swimming. Some days cooler currents may bring a cool change to the sea water temperature but mostly the water is warm to enjoy. Unless you live in a place with warm ocean waters, you will think the sea waters around Puerto Escondido are hot! Through the whole month the waters should be clear so you should get good clarity when doing water activities like diving or snorkling.
