December
The month of December each year is always busy with many extra visitors in town. Due to the weather being its coldest it is still a great time to visit Puerto Escondido. There is always numerous events, with something happening every day almost during December and into the first week or so of January.
Weather wise, December is also a great time to visit Puerto Escondido. Normally the days are cloudless yet the green plant life is starting to dry out from lack of rain.
If you are at Zicatela beach you will see the sky divers jumping and landing on the beach nearly every hour. It is also a good time to learn to surf as the waves are normally smaller this time of year.
The December water temperature is ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Some days although the different currents may bring a cool change to the sea water temperature. Unless you live in a place with warm ocean waters, you will think the sea waters around Puerto Escondido are hot! By December the waters are mostly clear so you will get great clarity when diving or snorkling.
