There are many great places to eat in Puerto Escondido and one place all visitors should stop at for a great breakfast or lunch or dinner (or in-between snack) is La Flor de Zicatela located on the south end of the main shopping strip near the large Squalo surf store.

Surf Report

There are good waves most of the year at Puerto Escondido. The big waves and many more surfers arrive and stay for the rainy season which happens from about May or June to September or October. July is crowded but always has good waves. The surf conditions change often so if you are coming for surfing then plan to stay a few weeks to ensure you get a few good swells and killer sessions with good waves.

Unlike other places around the world, pedestrians do not have right of way in Mexico. It is dangerous for people to walk on the road where vehicles are passing by as the drivers will not often take care to avoid not running a person (or animal) over.
