The airport code for the Puerto Escondido is PXM. The airport and terminal is located a short 5 minutes from town on the road north to Acapulco. Normal taxis can drop you at the airport but only 2 brands of authorised airport taxis can take you from the airport.

If you want to leave using a cheaper regular taxi, take a 3 minute walk to the main road outside and hail one from there. It should not cost more than $30MXN (not per person) for a taxi ride to your hotel (except La Punta which is further).

Many "colectivos" which look like taxis often drive-by and these cost $4MXN per person but will often be full of people and only travel along a certain route, so you can't ask them to drop you at destination that is not on their route.

There are only 2 authorised companies of airport taxis operating in Puerto Escondido. Both of these have ticket counters inside the terminal where you can pay for your ride before venturing outside. The current price is $30MXN per person. If you need to pay via credit-card, you must pay at the counter; or simply pay cash to the driver who will be waiting outside.

It costs $20MXN per day to park your vehicle or motorbike if you need to stop other than doing a pick-up or drop-off. If you need to return that same day, simply show the security guard at the booth your ticket from before and they should let you in without charging again.

At the Puerto Escondido airport terminal is where the immigration office is for the area. The entrance to the office is located to the left of the main terminal. It is open from 9am until 1pm weekdays. You can normally just show up and wait to see an officer without making an appointment. When you arrive, knock on the day, wait for them to acknowledge that they know you are there, then wait on the seats nearby until they call you. It all depends on what day and times as to how busy they will be.
