Carrizalillo Beach
The Carrizalillo beach in Rinconada is simply beautiful! It is not as crowded as the other more known beaches to Mexican tourists in Puerto Escondido and is just one bay round from Puerto Angelito and Manzanilla. It is much liked and often used as a place to learn to surf.

Marinero Beach
The beach called Marinero is near where many of the fishing boats are moored. It is a favourite spot to play in the small waves and for swimming safely as there are lifeguards on duty during day-light hours 7 days a week.

Zicatela Beach
The most famous beach in Puerto Escondido is Zicatela beach. It is a long wide beach that runs for a few miles and has lovely golden sand (when the rain hasn't washed all the rubbish from the local colonies onto it). It is well known as having one of the best surfing waves in the world.

La Punta Beach
The far southern end of Zicatela beach is known as la Punta (which means point in Spanish). Many local surfing families live at la punta and will often be found enjoying the beach and waves that are to be had.
