Pedestrians Beware

Unlike other places around the world, pedestrians do not have right of way in Mexico. It is dangerous for people to walk on the road where vehicles are passing by as the drivers will not often take care to avoid not running a person (or animal) over.

If you do need to walk around on the roads (which it is often too hot to do so anyway) then be very alert as to where cars, motorbikes, trucks and buses are lest they get too close for your comfort. It is also wise to move to the side of the road and wait for the vehicle to pass by especially when the road is narrow. Some areas of Puerto Escondido have footpaths so if they exist pedestrians should use them.

This luggage fee can be paid in cash or with the airports credit card facilities.
