When you visit Puerto Escondido you will mostly likely surf with some of the Christian Surfers crew at the point (La Punta) or at the beachbreak (Zicatela). They are a friendly bunch and very willing and able to help you whatever your need might be.

This enthusiastic group of Christian surfers meet weekly for a surfers bible study each Thursday night from 7pm in a house at La Punta. All surfers are welcome! Come and join them for something to eat and talk about life and the plans God has for our lives. Most of the evening and the main talk is presented in both English and Spanish.

Travelling with a Surfboard or Bodyboard

A few years ago the airline companies who service Puerto Escondido (PXM) began charging for all surfboards or bodyboards a traveller wants to leave with. The price per board is $60USD. The check-in clerks will open your board bags and count how many boards are in the surfboard bag and multiply that quantity by $60USD. This luggage fee can be paid in cash or with the airports credit card facilities.
